Rolfing® Structural Integration

Picture
Rolfing Bench Work

Bodywork to release and balance the fascia/connective tissue combined with movement and perceptual education. This work helps to align the body in gravity and allow one to move with ease and efficiency

  • Single session: for "fix-it" work
  • 3 or 5 Series: a progression based upon a client's particular needs -- these shorter series may be used after the initial 10-series as a tune-up or to deepen the work
  • 10-Series: a progressive, organized approach that builds support while opening and integrating the body.  This is the classic series that Rolfing is known for and is recommended for clients who have not received Rolfing in the past.

Sessions are $145 (runs between 75-90 min) •$1,350 for 10-series

*Call to schedule a complimentary 30-min in-office or phone consultation.

* As Rolfing® sessions move between the table, seated and standing, please wear comfortable "Rolf attire" to allow movement and observation of structure.
For women: a bra or sport bra (not a T-style back)/underwear or 2-piece swimsuit
For men: briefs (not boxers, as they don't stretch)

Massage Therapy

Releasing the scapula
To relax and rejuvenate -- a massage therapy session may be the perfect choice.  Massage helps to reduce tension, enhance circulation and calm the nervous system.  It can also help to reduce soreness and speed recovery time after working out.

In massage, the client is covered by a sheet on the massage table and oil or creme is used for glide on the skin.   Essential oils like lavender or eucalyptus may be used to enhance the experience.

Sessions are $115/60 minutes
                         $145/90 minutes

Zero Balancing®

Zero Balancing® was developed by Fritz Smith, MD in the 1970's. Fritz was an osteopath, a Rolfer™, and an acupuncturist; Zero Balancing was born from a synergy of these disciplines.   In it, the practitioner  makes precise, gentle contact with the skeletal system to address the relationship of energy and structure in the body.  The work is done with the client clothed, lying on a massage table.  Following a protocol which lasts about 45 minutes, the practitioner uses finger pressure and gentle traction on areas of tension to create fulcrums/points of balance around which the body can re-balance and organize.  The work helps to clear blocks in the body's energy flow, increase vitality and enhance postural alignment.

Zero Balancing® is the perfect companion to the Rolfing® series as it addresses deeply held tension in the densest element of the body -- the bones.  Each session is complete in itself, but the work is cumulative over a number of sessions.
