Who gets Rolfing?

Rolfing is sought out by people looking to find relief from discomfort and pain, a quicker recovery from injury or surgery, improved athletic performance, or by those looking to deepen a current practice in a discipline such as yoga, martial arts, Pilates or meditation.

How does Rolfing work?

Your Rolfer™ helps to realign your body by releasing the fascia (connective tissue) from it's chronic patterns of shortening and fixation in order to allow your structure to find it's natural support and lift.  This skillful touch, combined with cues to help you move with length and sense your body's relationship with gravity, can allow very powerful shifts to happen.

What does the name of your practice, Embodied Line, refer to?

"The Line" is a reference for looking at how the major segments of the body are organized in 3-dimensional space around the line of gravity.  In looking at the illustration, you can see how proper alignment translates into more length and poise.

Does gravity flow through your line?
When the body gets working appropriately, the force of Gravity can flow through,
then spontaneously, the body heals itself.  — Ida Rolf
With better alignment and increased sensory awareness and perception, it is my hope for you that "The Line" becomes embodied as an internal felt sense, an energetic mid-line.  When this happens, you'll be better able to recognize poor postural habits and inefficient ways of moving.  Notice, for instance, how your body feels/looks right now as you stare at your computer or smart phone screen.

You have only one body for your life's journey.
I am happy to speak with you to help you determine if Rolfing® Structural Integration
or an alternative treatment can help support you on your journey.

Additional Services:

  • Massage Therapy: reduces stress, enhances well-being and maintains the changes from your Rolfing series.
  • Zero Balancing®: a powerful, yet gentle technique that works to release bound  energy held in the skeletal system.  Zero Balancing® can be done as a stand-alone session  or in complement with Rolfing or Massage Therapy.
